The Final Countdown...
I enjoyed the weekend before departure at my sister's, with my mom, brother in law and nephews. It was a beautiful drive with some of the most vivid fall colors I can remember. Now I have to decide what 7 outfits to take for a 2 month trip, finish laundry, try to pack all the stuff has been sitting on dressers and in corners into one large suitcase plus a carry-on bag. My husband bought me some space saver bags..let's hope they actually work!
The last email I received from the mission clinic in Haiti reported that there were 200 people on the waiting list for physical therapy. I don't think I will even have time to be home sick! I have set up a Skype account so if anyone wants to communicate with me, just look up my name and I'll add you as contact. I leave for the cities Thursday afternoon and my plane leaves for Port au Prince, Haiti on Friday morning at 6 am. I hope to do my next post sometime this weekend after I arrive and get settled. Ready or not, there I go...

Starting the count down...
Bon Jour, mon amis et le famille!
18 days until departure! I am listening to a french audiobook, learning as much as I can and preparing to take typhoid and malaria vaccines, pictured above. Never would have imagined that I would have a typhoid vaccine stored in my refrigerator! I am checking off the list of recommended items and have located my passport.
I wanted to get this blog going and get it out to everyone before hand so you can contact me if you have problems with accessing it. I'll keep the updates coming as events progress.
